Leaving Yellowknife

While the least romantic part of the journey, it was probably the most difficult and complex.  I retired from the RCAF and Mommy left her position with the Northwest Territories government, we sold the house, the boat, the condo, the truck, and then drove across Canada to Ottawa where we stopped for six weeks to put all our furniture into storage, re-rent the house on Lonsdale, get health insurance, order home-schooling materials, and say goodbye to friends and family.  On the first of August, we left in the Highlander with a ski box on top, two huge tupper ware bins (one for tools, one for books) and four backpacks of clothes.  This leads me to the two cardinal rules of our family:  Be on time and pack light.
